CVSS v3.1 |
| Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in Erlang OTP erts (inet_drv) allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to crash the BEAM VM by sending a crafted SCTP ERROR chunk.
The sctp_parse_error_chunk function in erts/emulator/drivers/common/inet_drv.c parses SCTP ERROR chunks and writes cause codes into a fixed-size stack-allocated ErlDrvTermData spec[] array without checking bounds. A remote attacker who has established an SCTP association to a listening port can send a single crafted SCTP ERROR chunk containing enough cause codes to overflow the stack buffer, crashing the VM. The attacker can only write 16-bit values interleaved with a fixed tag, so the overflow does not provide a controlled return address, limiting exploitation to Denial of Service.
A crafted SCTP ERROR chunk may also leak bits and pieces of Erlang VM memory into the received error packet observed by the Erlang process. Such data is already readable by the user running the Erlang VM, so the disclosure scope is limited.
This issue affects OTP from OTP 17.0 before OTP 27.3.4.13, OTP 28.5.0.2, and OTP 29.0.2, corresponding to erts from 6.0 before 15.2.7.9, 16.4.0.2, and 17.0.2. Whether OTP before OTP 17.0, corresponding to erts before 6.0, is affected is unknown. |
| Lantronix SLC8000/SLC9000 before firmware v9.7.0.2, EMG8500/EMG7500 before firmware v9.7.0.1, and all firmware versions of SLB882/SLCx-03/SLCx-02 contain a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability that allows authenticated attackers to potentially execute arbitrary code by exploiting an undocumented mfc eeprom write command that copies unbounded user input into a bounded stack buffer before passing it to a system() call. Attackers can authenticate as any user to the terminal or CLI interface and supply an oversized input to trigger the overflow, potentially achieving complete loss of confidentiality, integrity, and availability on the affected device and impacting downstream serial-attached devices. |

| A vulnerability was identified in Fast FAC1900R 20190827_2.0.2. The impacted element is the function get_alias_name of the component uhttpd. Such manipulation leads to stack-based buffer overflow. The attack may be performed from remote. The exploit is publicly available and might be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way. |

| A vulnerability has been found in Comfast CF-N1-S 2.6.0.1. Impacted is the function get_css_path_from_uri of the file /cgi-bin/mbox-config of the component Web Management Interface. The manipulation leads to stack-based buffer overflow. The attack can be initiated remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. |
| Stack-based buffer overflow in Windows MIDI Service Module allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| Multiple vulnerabilities exist in OpenThread's handling of MLE packets. An authenticated attacker on the same Thread network could send specially crafted packets to cause a denial of service. These issues include triggerable assertion failures and a stack-based buffer overflow. |
| A flaw has been found in Fast FAC1203R Gigabit Edition 2.0.4. Affected by this issue is the function copy_msg_element of the component Device Discovery Service. Executing a manipulation can lead to stack-based buffer overflow. The attack can be executed remotely. The exploit has been published and may be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way. |
| PLANET IGS-5225-8P2T4S industrial managed switch V1 and V2 firmware versions before 1.2412b260707 and 2.2412b260519 use MD5-based password hashing, a cryptographic algorithm with known weaknesses. An attacker who obtains the device configuration file can recover the privileged-mode access password. |

| Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in RTI Connext Professional (Core Libraries) allows Overflow Buffers. This issue affects Connext Professional: from 7.4.0 before 7.7.0.1, from 7.0.0 before 7.3.1.6, from 6.1.0 before 6.1.*, from 6.0.0 before 6.0.*, from 5.3.0 before 5.3.*, from 5.2.0 before 5.2.*, from 4.3x before 5.1.*. |
| A stack-based buffer overflow in the dynamic loader (ld.so) of the GNU C Library (glibc) versions 2.14 through 2.44 allows a local attacker to crash or corrupt the memory of setuid/setgid (AT_SECURE) programs.
When such a program's DT_RPATH or DT_RUNPATH begins with $ORIGIN and is followed by NUL or '/' the loader both reads past the end of the path buffer and writes past the end of a stack-allocated internal buffer. The corrupted loader stack can lead to a loader crash (denial of service) and limited disclosure of process memory. |
| There is a buffer overflow vulnerability in the underlying Utility daemon that could lead to unauthenticated remote code execution by sending specially crafted packets destined to the PAPI (Aruba's access point management protocol) UDP port (8211). Successful exploitation of this vulnerability results in the ability to execute arbitrary code as a privileged user on the underlying operating system.

| A flaw was found in libssh. During SFTP server directory listing, the longname field is constructed with unsafe concatenation into a fixed-size stack buffer. When a client causes the server to list attacker-controlled filenames, sufficiently long names can overflow that stack buffer and may lead to crashes or possible code execution on the server. |
| Notepad++ is a free and open-source source code editor. Prior to 8.9.8, Notepad++ contains a stack buffer overflow in PluginsManager::loadPluginFromPath in PowerEditor/src/MISC/PluginsManager/PluginsManager.cpp because the plugin-supplied GetLexerCount() result controls a loop that writes to containers[30] without enforcing NB_MAX_EXTERNAL_LANG. A malicious or compromised plugin that reports more than 30 lexers can write beyond the stack array and corrupt control data, which can permit arbitrary code execution in the Notepad++ process context. This issue is fixed in version 8.9.8. |
| LibreOffice can read CFF fonts, which may be embedded in documents. A stack buffer overflow existed when reading the hints of a glyph. The number of hints was checked against the wrong bound, so a glyph declaring more hints than the array can hold wrote past its end. In fixed versions the hint count is checked against the capacity the array really has. |
