| CVE-2026-98895 | 1 Linux | 2 Linux, Linux Kernel | 2026-10-23 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5: HWS, Handle destroying table that has a miss table If a table has a miss table that was created by 'mlx5hws_table_set_default_miss' API function, its miss_tbl keeps the table that points to it in a list. If such table is deleted, we need to also remove it from the miss_tbl list, otherwise the node in miss_tbl list will contain garbage. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98925 | 1 Linux | 2 Linux, Linux Kernel | 2026-10-23 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, sockmap: Fix self-redirect copied_seq double-counting When a BPF stream_verdict program redirects an skb back to the same socket (self-redirect with BPF_F_INGRESS), sk_psock_verdict_apply() calls tcp_eat_skb() which advances tcp_sk->copied_seq. However, the skb is then delivered to the socket's psock ingress queue and later read by tcp_bpf_recvmsg_parser(), which also advances copied_seq via the copied_from_self accounting path. This double-counting causes copied_seq to advance by 2x the actual data length, triggering: TCP recvmsg seq # bug 2: copied BF2E806, seq BF2E7FD, \ rcvnxt BF2E806, fl 0 WARNING: net/ipv4/tcp.c:2745 at tcp_recvmsg_locked+0x72b/0x2640 Call Trace: tcp_recvmsg+0x10a/0x500 sock_recvmsg+0x168/0x1d0 __sys_recvfrom+0x19a/0x2a0 __x64_sys_recvfrom+0xe4/0x1f0 do_syscall_64+0xf7/0x530 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f cleanup rbuf bug: copied BF2E806 seq BF2E806 rcvnxt BF2E806 WARNING: net/ipv4/tcp.c:1609 at tcp_cleanup_rbuf+0xf2/0x1c0 Call Trace: tcp_recvmsg_locked+0x8d1/0x2640 tcp_recvmsg+0x10a/0x500 sock_recvmsg+0x168/0x1d0 __sys_recvfrom+0x19a/0x2a0 __x64_sys_recvfrom+0xe4/0x1f0 do_syscall_64+0xf7/0x530 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f Fix this by converting self-redirect verdict to __SK_PASS at the beginning of sk_psock_verdict_apply(). This bypasses the __SK_REDIRECT case entirely (which calls sk_psock_eat_skb), letting the __SK_PASS path queue the skb to the psock ingress queue. The data is then read via tcp_bpf_recvmsg_parser(), which advances copied_seq exactly once through copied_from_self. Cross-socket redirects continue through __SK_REDIRECT with sk_psock_eat_skb() unchanged. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98930 | 1 Linux | 2 Linux, Linux Kernel | 2026-10-23 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: s390: Fix IRQ injection with SIGP Stop and Store Status When __inject_sigp_stop() is called for a Stop and Store Status operation, if the vCPU is running, the interrupt is marked as pending and the status is stored by the thread performing the KVM_RUN IOCTL. If the vCPU is already stopped, the status is stored immediately. Storing the status means writing into userspace, which might fault, and __inject_sigp_stop() is called from do_inject_vcpu() which in turn is always called holding a spinlock, which is obviously an issue. Fix this by returning -EWOULDBLOCK from __inject_sigp_stop(), and adding a bool flag to indicate whether a store status is needed. The callers of do_inject_vcpu() are modified to pass the pointer to the bool flag; whenever a Store Status operation is needed, the callers can now perform it outside the spinlock. Opportunistically refactor kvm_s390_set_irq_state() to use scoped_guard() and __free(). [ Added Fixes tag while picking -- Claudio ] | ||||
| CVE-2026-98931 | 1 Linux | 2 Linux, Linux Kernel | 2026-10-23 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mtd: spinand: fix NULL pointer dereference with no ECC engine When "nand-no-ecc-engine" is set in DT, nanddev_get_ecc_engine() takes the NAND_ECC_ENGINE_TYPE_NONE path and returns success while leaving nand->ecc.engine NULL. The SPI-NAND code nevertheless dereferences it unconditionally to test for a pipelined engine, so probing such a device oopses immediately. Rather than open-coding the test three times, add a nand_ecc_is_pipelined() helper to the NAND core that folds the NULL check into the integration comparison, and use it everywhere. Future callers then cannot reintroduce the problem. | ||||
| CVE-2026-98939 | 1 Linux | 2 Linux, Linux Kernel | 2026-10-23 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/mm: Drop unnecessary PMD page copy when freeing On a box with a discrete GPU, lockdep reports a possible deadlock as soon as kswapd shrinks the TTM page pool. The immediate cause is an x86 commit that added an mmap_read_lock() to kernel page protection munging code. The huge vmap code holds the same lock over a GFP_KERNEL allocation, which is a no-no now that reclaim can take it. That allocation is in a page table *free* path and ends up being for dubious purposes[1]. Basically, it tries to avoid hardware setting Accessed=1 in page table entries that are unreachable by the hardware, a non-issue. Remove the PMD copy. Detach the original PMD page at the PUD, flush the mid-level caches, and free the PTE tables straight from the detached PMD page. With no allocation left, the locking issue is gone. Lockdep splat/analysis: WARNING: possible circular locking dependency detected 7.3.0-rc3-f6e7b42bf05b+ #183 Tainted: G U ------------------------------------------------------ kswapd0/269 is trying to acquire lock: ((init_mm).mmap_lock){++++}-{4:4}, at: change_page_attr_set_clr+0x29a/0x4a0 but task is already holding lock: (pool_shrink_rwsem){.+.+}-{4:4}, at: ttm_pool_shrink+0xb2/0x330 [ttm] Chain exists of: (init_mm).mmap_lock --> fs_reclaim --> pool_shrink_rwsem The cycle is built from three edges: 1) pool_shrink_rwsem -> (init_mm).mmap_lock The TTM shrinker restores the caching attribute of every page it frees, while holding pool_shrink_rwsem: ttm_pool_shrink() -> ttm_pool_dispose_list() -> ttm_pool_free_page() -> set_pages_wb() -> change_page_attr_set_clr() [ init_mm mmap read lock ] 2) fs_reclaim -> pool_shrink_rwsem The same shrinker, called from reclaim. 3) (init_mm).mmap_lock -> fs_reclaim ioremap() installing a huge PUD mapping over an existing PMD table: ioremap_page_range() -> vmap_range_noflush() -> vmap_try_huge_pud() [ init_mm mmap read lock ] -> pud_free_pmd_page() -> __get_free_page(GFP_KERNEL) [ enters reclaim ] [ dhansen: Lots of changelog munging/trimming and merged comments from my version of the fix. ] | ||||
| CVE-2026-99049 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-23 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gpio: xilinx: fix runtime PM leak on request error path pm_runtime_get_sync() leaves the usage counter incremented even when it fails, and xgpio_request() returns the error without dropping it. gpiolib does not call ->free() when ->request() fails, so xgpio_free(), which holds the only matching pm_runtime_put(), never runs. The reference is leaked and the controller can no longer runtime-suspend, so its clock stays enabled. Switch to pm_runtime_resume_and_get(), which only increments the usage counter on success. | ||||
| CVE-2026-99070 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-23 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: do not warn on route notification size race fib6_info_hw_flags_set() sizes the skb with rt6_nlmsg_size() and later fills it with rt6_fill_node(). With nexthop compatibility mode enabled, a concurrent replacement can grow the group between these independent snapshots. rt6_fill_node() can then legitimately return -EMSGSIZE, so the warning does not prove a sizing bug. Remove the warning. The existing error path still frees the skb and reports the error to listeners. | ||||
| CVE-2026-99072 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-23 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv4: stop route notification sizing when nexthop group shrinks Commit 680aea08e78c ("net: ipv4: Emit notification when fib hardware flags are changed") added an RCU-only fib_nlmsg_size() call for asynchronous hardware flag notifications. fib_nlmsg_size() checks fib_info_num_path() before each iteration, then fib_info_nhc() independently reloads nh->nh_grp. If RTM_NEWNEXTHOP replaces a group with fewer paths between those loads, fib_info_nhc() returns NULL and fib_nexthop_nlmsg_size() dereferences it. Stop sizing when the indexed path is absent. Nexthop groups are dense, so the current snapshot has no later path. | ||||
| CVE-2026-99074 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-23 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv4: stop PMTU walk when nexthop group shrinks Commit 7d3f3b4367f3 ("net: ipv4: Cache pmtu for all packet paths if multipath enabled") made __ip_rt_update_pmtu() update every path. For nexthop objects, fib_info_num_path() and fib_info_nhc() independently load nh->nh_grp. RCU protects each group's lifetime but does not make the loads observe the same group. If replacement shrinks the group after the loop accepts an index, fib_info_nhc() returns NULL and update_or_create_fnhe() dereferences it. A deterministic probe only widened the existing window between the real operations. On v7.2, an RTM_NEWNEXTHOP replacement published a one-member group after the PMTU reader accepted index 1 from a two-member group, producing: KASAN: null-ptr-deref in range [0x0000000000000000-0x0000000000000007] RIP: update_or_create_fnhe+0x45/0x15b0 Stop when the indexed path is absent. Groups are dense, so no later index exists in that snapshot. The same real-writer window completed 114,423 PMTU iterations without an oops with this check. A reproducer is available on request. Replacement requires CAP_NET_ADMIN in the network namespace. Where unprivileged user namespaces are permitted, a local user can obtain it in a new user and network namespace. | ||||
| CVE-2026-99082 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-23 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: x86: Use active memslots for the per-vCPU MMIO cache KVM tags the per-vCPU MMIO cache with a memslot generation so that a memslot update invalidates cached MMIO information. Both the fill and validation paths use kvm_memslots(), which unconditionally selects address space 0, even when the vCPU is running in SMM and using address space 1. Commit 56f17dd3fbc4 ("kvm: x86: fix stale mmio cache bug") added the memslot generation to the cache key so that a memslot update could not leave a stale entry valid. When commit 699023e23965 ("KVM: x86: add SMM to the MMU role, support SMRAM address space") added the SMM address space, these helpers were not converted to use the active memslots. Consequently, an update to the SMM memslots can leave an entry from the old SMM address space apparently valid after the vCPU returns to the normal address space. A guest can then cause an access to valid RAM at the same GFN to be returned to userspace as KVM_EXIT_MMIO. Completing that exit through the VMM's RAM address space writes the backing page without going through KVM's write-tracking path. If the page backs a nested EPT table, KVM can continue using shadow translations derived from the old contents. The WARN_ON_ONCE() in kvm_mmu_write_protect_fault() catches this invalid cache and memslot combination. Use the vCPU's active memslots when caching and validating the entry. Memslot generations are unique across address spaces, so the generation also distinguishes the normal and SMM views. This matches the MMIO SPTE cache, which already uses kvm_vcpu_memslots(). On an unpatched current-mainline kernel, a regression test that fills the cache in SMM and updates only the SMM memslots fails the intended RAM write and triggers the kvm_mmu_write_protect_fault() warning. With this change, the same test completes the RAM write without a warning. The x86/smm_test, set_memory_region_test, and memslot_modification_stress_test selftests also pass. | ||||
| CVE-2026-99083 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-23 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix heap out-of-bounds write in krb5_authenticate() In krb5_authenticate(), out_len is calculated to determine available headroom in response_buf for the incoming Kerberos AP-REP token. However, when SMB2_SESSION_SETUP is processed as a non-first element of a compounded SMB2 request, the calculation omits work->next_smb2_rsp_hdr_off. This causes out_len to overstate remaining buffer headroom by the cumulative size of prior responses in the compound chain. Consequently, the length check in ksmbd_krb5_authenticate() (*out_len <= resp->spnego_blob_len) passes erroneously, allowing memcpy() to write the AP-REP blob past the end of response_buf into adjacent kernel heap memory. Fix this by subtracting work->next_smb2_rsp_hdr_off when computing out_len, ensuring it accurately reflects physical remaining buffer space. | ||||
