CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
platform/x86/amd/pmc: Propagate SMU errors and validate S2D address
amd_stb_s2d_init() discards the return value of several S2D SMU commands.
When the SMU refuses a command (e.g. "SMU cmd failed. err: 0xff") the
failure is only noticed indirectly - if at all - and reported as -EIO,
masking the real error.
More seriously, the S2D_PHYS_ADDR_LOW/HIGH return values are ignored, so
on failure phys_addr_low/hi are left uninitialised and the assembled
address is passed straight to devm_ioremap(). When the SMU leaves them at
zero this maps physical address 0 and trips the ioremap-on-RAM warning:
amd_pmc AMDI000B:00: SMU cmd failed. err: 0xff
ioremap on RAM at 0x0000000000000000 - 0x0000000000ffffff
WARNING: CPU: 13 PID: 4592 at arch/x86/mm/ioremap.c:...
Check the return value of each SMU command and propagate it, and reject a
zero physical address before calling devm_ioremap(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: drop_monitor: fix info leak in NET_DM_ATTR_PAYLOAD
net_dm_packet_report_fill() and net_dm_hw_packet_report_fill() open code
the NET_DM_ATTR_PAYLOAD attribute to avoid zeroing the packet payload
before overwriting it with skb_copy_bits().
skb_put() reserves nla_total_size(payload_len), i.e. the header plus the
NLA_ALIGN() padding, but only payload_len bytes are copied in. When
payload_len is not a multiple of 4 the 1-3 padding bytes are never
initialized and are leaked to user space inside the netlink message.
KMSAN confirms the leak for the software path when the packet payload
length is not 4-byte aligned:
BUG: KMSAN: kernel-infoleak in _copy_to_iter
_copy_to_iter
__skb_datagram_iter

__sys_recvfrom
Uninit was created at:
kmem_cache_alloc_node_noprof
__alloc_skb
net_dm_packet_work
Bytes 173-175 of 176 are uninitialized
Use __nla_reserve(), which sets up the attribute header and zeroes the
padding, instead of open coding the attribute construction. |
| Use of uninitialized resource, Return of wrong status code vulnerability in Apache Thrift c_glib bindings.
This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue. |
| NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Windows and Linux contains a vulnerability in the kernel mode layer where an error-handling path could operate on an improperly initialized resource. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to code execution, escalation of privileges, denial of service, information disclosure, and data tampering. |
| Uninitialized resource in WebGPU in Google Chrome prior to 154.0.8037.92 allowed a remote attacker to obtain cross-origin data via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) |
| A vulnerability was identified in Eleveo Call Recording Software 9.7.0. This vulnerability affects unknown code of the file /callrec/userAddAction.do of the component User Management. Such manipulation of the argument Username leads to ldap injection. The attack can be executed remotely. The exploit is publicly available and might be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xfs: initialise error in xfs_defer_finish_one()
xfs_defer_finish_one() declares error without an initialiser and only
assigns it inside the loop over dfp->dfp_work. When that list is empty
the loop body never runs, control falls through to the "Done with the
dfp, free it" path, and the function returns an indeterminate value.
An item-less pending item reaches this through xfs_defer_add_barrier(),
which xfs_reap_ag_blocks() uses on any CONFIG_XFS_ONLINE_REPAIR kernel.
xfs_defer_finish_noroll() treats any non-EAGAIN return as fatal, so a
non-zero stack value turns a successful barrier into a
SHUTDOWN_CORRUPT_INCORE in the middle of a repair. Zero is the correct
result: reaching the free path means the item loop drained without a
non-zero error. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfs: Fix uninitialized return value in netfs_unbuffered_write()
If preparation of the first subrequest fails,
netfs_unbuffered_write() exits its loop before ret is initialized. The
empty-iterator check can do the same.
For synchronous writes, netfs_unbuffered_write_iter_locked() may then
return an unrelated error instead of wreq->error. This is reachable
through CIFS if cifs_prepare_write() fails to reopen the file or obtain
credits.
Initialize ret to 0 so the caller returns wreq->error if no data was
written, or the number of bytes already written otherwise.
Found with Clang's -Wconditional-uninitialized. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: usbusx2y: validate URB actual_length in interrupt callback
i_usx2y_in04_int() processes the interrupt URB data without checking
urb->actual_length. A short transfer from a malfunctioning device
would cause the handler to process uninitialized heap data from the
kmalloc-allocated in04_buf, which is then copied to the mmap-accessible
ctl_snapshot[] array.
Fix by using kzalloc() for in04_buf to zero-initialize the buffer,
and adding an actual_length check to skip processing on short
transfers while still resubmitting the URB. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
accel: ethosu: Ensure SRAM size is 0 on mapping failure
On a mapping failure of the SRAM, the SRAM size is left as non-zero. The
probe will succeed as the error return is not checked since having SRAM is
not a hard requirement. The non-zero size allows jobs to access SRAM which
is left pointing to physical base address 0x0. |
| ImageMagick versions before 7.1.2-32 and 6.9.13-57 contain uninitialized heap memory disclosure in the GIF decoder's application extension handler in coders/gif.c. Attackers can craft malicious GIF files that cause the number parser to read uninitialized heap memory and store contents as image metadata, disclosing sensitive heap information. |
| Authentication bypass via LDAP injection in component sshd-ldap in Apache MINA SSHD versions 1.2.0 to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5.
Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH.
The optional sshd-ldap component provides support for integrating
password and publickey authentication on the server side with an LDAP
server.
sshd-ldap is an optional component. SSH servers implemented with Apache
MINA SSHD are affected only if they use sshd-ldap and do configure it to be used for password of public key authentication.
Other Apache MINA SSHD servers are not affected.
Lack of escaping LDAP filter metacharacters enabled successful authentication with username "*" and password "*".
Users are recommended to upgrade affected applications to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue by properly escaping filter parameters according to RFC 4515. |
| NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Windows and Linux contains a vulnerability in the kernel mode layer where a user could cause uninitialized kernel memory to be copied back to userspace. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to information disclosure. |
