CVSS v3.1 |
| A flaw was found in OpenSSH. When compression is negotiated, channels on the same connection share one LZ77 dictionary. A peer who can write on one channel can recover plaintext from another channel by chosen-plaintext lengths. |
| A vulnerability in HPE NonStop ANSI SQLUTIL may allow a remote unauthenticated actor to cause an affected service to terminate unexpectedly, causing a denial of service. |
| A security vulnerability in HPE NonStop SQL/MX SQLCAT may allow an unauthenticated user to perform unauthorized command execution. |
| Post-authentication Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection') vulnerability has been identified in the SonicWall Network Security Manager (NSM) on-prem which in specific conditions could potentially enable a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary OS commands, resulting in remote code execution. |
| A crafted input message can cause a buffer overflow in HPE Nonstop KMS Server. |
| Incomplete cleanup vulnerability in ABB My Control System.
This issue affects My Control System: 26.4 and 26.5. |
| Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting') vulnerability in bannersky BSK PDF Manager bsk-pdf-manager allows Stored XSS.This issue affects BSK PDF Manager: from n/a through 3.8.1. |
| A vulnerability HPE NonStop SQL/MX Run-Time Statistics may allow an attacker to cause memory corruption and null pointer dereference, potentially leading to process crash, DoS or information disclosure. |
| The WholesaleX – B2B & Wholesale Plugin for WooCommerce with Wholesale Prices plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Limited Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 3.0.8 via the 'process_registration' due to missing validation on the 'wholesalex_registration_role' parameter. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to register as any existing WholesaleX role. The vulnerability was partially patched in version 2.3.8. |
| In Eclipse Ditto versions 3.6.0 to 3.8.13 and 3.9.0 to 3.9.7, the Ditto Explorer UI loads its complete environment configuration, including the Ditto API URI and the OpenID Connect (OIDC) provider settings, from an arbitrary
cross-origin URL supplied in the environmentsURL query parameter. It adopts this configuration without user confirmation and persists it in the browser's localStorage. A crafted link can therefore set an attacker-controlled OIDC
authority with autoSso enabled. The UI then automatically starts a login at the genuine identity provider but exchanges the returned authorization code together with its PKCE code_verifier at an attacker-controlled token
endpoint. This lets the attacker redeem the code for the victim's access and refresh tokens. Alternatively, an attacker-controlled api_uri causes the UI to send the victim's bearer token or Basic credentials to the attacker. Because
the configuration is persisted, later visits to the UI without the crafted link repeat the token theft. In versions 3.9.0 to 3.9.7, the Swagger UI OIDC integration of the Helm chart and the Docker Compose deployment is affected in
the same way, but requires the user to start the login. The issue is fixed in 3.8.14 and 3.9.8. |
| A flaw was found in OpenSSH. After compression is negotiated, a compressed payload can expand past the maximum supported packet size because the inflate loop does not stop at that limit. Memory use grows in the process handling that connection. |
| A flaw was found in OpenSSH. A username entered on the ssh command line can still contain '$' or a non-trailing backslash. When a configuration expands %u inside ProxyCommand or Match exec, those characters are passed into the shell. |
| A flaw was found in OpenSSH. With GSSAPI authentication enabled, a failed GSSAPI attempt can leave delegated credentials stored for the connection even though user authorization did not succeed. A later successful login on that connection is not authorized by the leftover state. |
| FreeRDP from 2.0.0 before 3.32.0 contains a memory exhaustion vulnerability in wts_read_drdynvc_data_first that allows authenticated clients to force servers to commit large memory allocations. Attackers can send a seven-byte DATA_FIRST message on an opened DVC declaring a large 32-bit length, causing zeroed resident memory growth and server resource exhaustion. |
| FreeRDP from 3.0.0-beta1 before 3.32.0 fails to enforce cumulative or absolute size limits when reassembling RDPDR channel fragments in the proxy. Attackers can send a FIRST fragment followed by continuation fragments without LAST, growing per-session heap streams proportional to traffic and exhausting proxy memory. |
| FreeRDP 2.0.0 before 3.32.0, when built with WITH_LAME=ON and WITH_DSP_FFMPEG=OFF, has a heap-based buffer overflow in freerdp_dsp_decode_mp3 because the right-channel PCM pointer is offset by a byte count treated as short elements. A malicious RDP server can send MP3 audio over rdpsnd so decoded samples cross the heap allocation, crashing the client. |
| FreeRDP shadow server from 3.0.0 before 3.32.0 dispatches input PDUs during the Confirm Active state before authentication, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject keyboard input. Attackers can negotiate TLS-only RDP and send an input PDU without Confirm Active to inject synthetic keystrokes into the host user's X11 session via XTEST. |
| Nodemailer from 3.0.0 before 10.0.10 contains a denial of service vulnerability in MessageParser.parseHeaders that allows users to exhaust CPU through quadratic header unfolding. Attackers can supply large recipient lists or long headers that fold into tens of thousands of continuation lines, blocking the Node.js event loop during DKIM signing. |
| ### Summary
`qs.stringify` with `arrayFormat: 'comma'` throws `TypeError: Cannot convert object to primitive value` when an array element cannot be coerced to a string, such as an object with an own non-callable `toString` (`{ "toString": "x" }`) or a null-prototype object. The comma format joins array elements with `Array.prototype.join` and, under `encodeValuesOnly`, first passes each element through `String()` in `utils.encode`; neither guards against an element whose string coercion fails.
### Details
In `lib/stringify.js`, the comma branch collapses the array with `obj.join(',')`. For an element whose own `toString` is not callable, `ToPrimitive` skips it, falls through to `Object.prototype.valueOf` (which returns the object itself), and throws. Under `encodeValuesOnly: true`, the same element first reaches `String(str)` in `utils.encode` (`lib/utils.js`) and throws there. Nested arrays (`{ "a": [[{ "toString": "x" }]] }`) throw the same way, through `Array.prototype.toString`. The `indices`, `brackets`, and `repeat` formats walk into object elements instead of coercing them, and are not affected.
Such elements can come from untrusted input. `JSON.parse` produces `{ "a": [{ "toString": "x" }] }` with no qs option involved. `qs.parse("a[0][toString]=x", { allowPrototypes: true })` keeps the `toString` key, and `qs.parse("a[][b]=c", { plainObjects: true })` produces a null-prototype element; the default parse options drop `toString` and produce ordinary objects, which do not throw. Express 4's default `query parser`, Express 5's `extended` query parser, and body-parser's `urlencoded({ extended: true })` all call `qs.parse` with `allowPrototypes: true`.
#### PoC
```js
var qs = require("qs");
qs.stringify(JSON.parse("{\"a\":[{\"toString\":\"x\"}]}"), { arrayFormat: "comma" });
qs.stringify(qs.parse("a[0][toString]=x", { allowPrototypes: true }), { arrayFormat: "comma" });
qs.stringify(qs.parse("a[][b]=c", { plainObjects: true }), { arrayFormat: "comma", encodeValuesOnly: true });
// TypeError: Cannot convert object to primitive value
```
#### Fix
Applied in a952e75 on `main` and released as v6.16.1: an element whose string coercion would fail is coerced to its primitive `valueOf`, if any, or else to `Object.prototype.toString`, so it renders as `[object Object]`, the same as any other object element already does under the comma format. Nested arrays are walked the way `join` walks them. Every input that did not previously throw serializes exactly as before, and a `toString` or `valueOf` that itself throws still propagates.
### Affected versions
`>=6.7.0 <6.16.1`, fixed in v6.16.1.
The `join` path was introduced with the comma format in b84acba and first shipped in v6.7.0; v6.6.x and earlier ignore `arrayFormat: 'comma'` and are not affected. The `encodeValuesOnly` `String()` site was introduced in 4c4b23d (v6.11.1); before that, the same input throws at `join`. Every release from v6.7.0 through v6.16.0 is affected.
### Impact
An unauthenticated request can make any code path that re-serializes attacker-influenced data with `qs.stringify` and `arrayFormat: 'comma'` (for example, rebuilding a query string from `req.query` for a redirect or an upstream request, or serializing a parsed JSON body) throw synchronously. In a typical Node.js HTTP framework the throw is caught by the framework error boundary and the affected request returns a 500; the process survives and other requests are unaffected. Where the call runs outside an error boundary, such as an `async` Express 4 handler (where the throw becomes an unhandled promise rejection) or a bare `http` request handler, the process exits, so the impact in that case depends on the application error handling rather than on qs. The default `arrayFormat` (`indices`) is not affected. |
| FreeRDP versions from 3.0.0 before 3.32.0 contain a null pointer dereference in the rdpsnd channel when a fragment sets CHANNEL_FLAG_LAST without CHANNEL_FLAG_FIRST. A malicious RDP server can send a malformed rdpsnd PDU on a fresh channel to crash the client and cause denial of service. |
