CVSS v3.1 |
| gptp_mi_qualify_announce() in subsys/net/l2/ethernet/gptp/gptp_mi.c walks the Path Trace TLV of a received IEEE 802.1AS Announce message, comparing each clock identity against the local one. The loop bound was taken solely from the attacker-controlled wire field announce->steps_removed (accepted up to 254), never from announce->tlv.len, which is the field that states how many identities the TLV actually carries. Because path_sequence is the flexible member of the wire TLV (struct gptp_path_trace_tlv) and GPTP_ANNOUNCE() yields a raw pointer into the received packet buffer, the memcmp() inside the loop can address memory well past the end of the received frame.
The stack's only length validation, GPTP_ANNOUNCE_CHECK_LEN(), requires the received gPTP payload to be exactly 68 + tlv.len bytes — so it does not constrain the loop, it guarantees the data is absent. An unauthenticated attacker on the same Ethernet segment can send a single Announce frame declaring tlv.len = 0 with steps_removed = 254; the frame passes the length check and reception path (net_gptp_recv() → gptp_handle_msg() → gptp_mi_qualify_announce()), which performs no authentication, and the loop then reads 255 entries of 8 bytes each — about 2 KB — beyond the end of the network buffer.
The impact is an out-of-bounds read. The bytes read are only used as a memcmp() operand and are never returned to the attacker, so there is no meaningful information disclosure; the practical risk is that the overread crosses a network buffer pool boundary into unmapped or MPU-protected memory and faults the networking RX thread, causing a denial of service. Exposure is limited to builds that enable the opt-in, experimental CONFIG_NET_GPTP (TSN/AVB deployments) and to attackers with layer-2 adjacency, since gPTP frames are sent to a link-local multicast address and are not routed.
The fix computes the true entry count as tlv.len / GPTP_CLOCK_ID_LEN and rejects the announce when steps_removed + 1 exceeds it, so the loop can no longer run past the data the packet-length check proved present. |
| Caddy is an extensible server platform that uses TLS by default. In version 2.11.3 and earlier, three configuration-dependent weaknesses affect the handler and placeholder layer. In modules/caddyhttp/rewrite/rewrite.go, Rewrite.Rewrite() can pass attacker-controlled replacement bytes through buildQueryString for a second placeholder expansion when a rewrite URI ends with a literal question mark, allowing injected environment or request-variable placeholders to disclose data and, when the file provider is registered, allowing injected file placeholders to disclose readable files. The issue is fixed in version 2.11.4. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
platform/x86/amd/hsmp: Reject negative power cap writes in hwmon
hsmp_hwmon_write() takes the user-supplied hwmon value as a signed long
and assigns "val / MICROWATT_PER_MILLIWATT" to msg.args[0], which is a
__u32. MICROWATT_PER_MILLIWATT is an unsigned long, so a negative write
to power1_cap (e.g. "echo -1 > power1_cap") is first converted to a huge
unsigned value by the division and then stored into the u32 argument.
As a result a nonsensical, multi-gigawatt socket power limit is sent to
the SMU via HSMP_SET_SOCKET_POWER_LIMIT instead of the write being
rejected.
Reject negative values with -EINVAL before the conversion.
Tested with HSMP enabled:
CAP=$(dirname $(grep -l amd_hsmp_hwmon \
/sys/class/hwmon/hwmon*/name | head -1))/power1_cap
# negative write
echo -1000000 > $CAP ; echo "ret=$?"
# valid positive write must still work
echo 400000000 > $CAP ; echo "ret=$?"
Before:
# echo -1000000 > $CAP ; echo "ret=$?"
ret=0 <- accepted; bogus limit sent to SMU
# echo 400000000 > $CAP ; echo "ret=$?"
ret=0
After:
# echo -1000000 > $CAP ; echo "ret=$?"
bash: echo: write error: Invalid argument
ret=1 <- rejected with -EINVAL
# echo 400000000 > $CAP ; echo "ret=$?"
ret=0 <- valid write still works |
| On affected platforms running Arista EOS with Open Shortest Path First version 3 (OSPFv3) configured, a specially crafted packet can cause the OSPFv3 agent to restart unexpectedly. |
| node-opcua is an OPC UA implementation for TypeScript and Node.js. Prior to node-opcua-client 2.145.0, the internal fieldsToJson method in packages/node-opcua-client/source/alarms_and_conditions/client_alarm.ts directly assigns unsanitized field names and allows a __proto__.pollutedKey path to modify Object.prototype. Successful exploitation requires an application to expose attacker-controlled event fields to fieldsToJson and may cause denial of service or application logic corruption. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.145.0. |
| A vulnerability in the DNS over TCP implementation of Cisco Secure Firewall Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (FTD) Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause the TCP DNS response handler to unexpectedly restart, causing the device to reload.
This vulnerability is due to a logic error when parsing a DNS query and tracking the size of the incoming buffers. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by formatting a crafted reply to a DNS query sent from the targeted device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the device to reload, causing a denial of service (DoS) condition.
Note: The attacker must be able to respond to DNS queries from the device, either by controlling the DNS service or through a machine-in-the-middle attack. |
| OpenSlide is a C library for reading whole slide image files. From 3.4.1 until 4.0.1, OpenSlide's parse_level0_xml() processing in src/openslide-vendor-ventana.c accepts nonpositive row or column tile counts from a crafted Ventana BIF file. The invalid counts produce attacker-controlled relative memory offsets and allow arbitrary values to be written at those offsets, affecting all supported platforms and configurations and resulting in a crash or potential arbitrary code execution. This issue is fixed in version 4.0.1. |
| Svelte devalue is a JavaScript library that serializes values into strings when JSON.stringify isn't sufficient for the job. Prior to 5.9.2, devalue.parse does not reject out-of-bounds indices that are greater than or equal to values.length in src/parse.js. A specially crafted untrusted payload can make the parser alternate between array representations, producing quadratic work as the payload grows and causing denial of service in applications that parse untrusted devalue data. This issue is fixed in version 5.9.2. |
| CoreDNS is a DNS server written in Go. Prior to 1.14.7, the DNS-over-HTTPS, DNS-over-HTTP/3, DNS-over-QUIC, and DNS-over-gRPC request paths in plugin/pkg/doh/doh.go, core/dnsserver/server_quic.go, and core/dnsserver/server_grpc.go call dns.Msg.Unpack on attacker-controlled DNS section counts before dns.DefaultMsgAcceptFunc validates the fixed header. An unauthenticated client can use DNS name compression and excessive section counts to amplify allocation before the plugin chain, so plugin-level rate limiting cannot prevent concurrent requests from exhausting memory and terminating CoreDNS. The ordinary UDP and TCP listeners are not affected because they validate the header first. This issue is fixed in version 1.14.7. |
| IBM MQ for HPE NonStop 8.1.0 through 8.1.0.40 could allow an authenticated attacker to cause a denial of service or potentially escalate privileges due to an integer overflow in MQINQ request validation. |
| IBM MQ for HPE NonStop 8.1.0 through 8.1.0.40 could allow an authenticated attacker to cause a denial of service or potentially execute arbitrary code due to a heap buffer underflow when processing multi-segment messages. |
| @fastify/static is a Fastify plugin that serves static files from a configured root directory. In versions before 10.1.4, on a case-insensitive filesystem such as Windows or the default macOS volume, a route guard or allowedPath restriction can be bypassed by altering the letter case of a path segment. The route matcher is case-sensitive while the filesystem is not, so a request that changes the case of a protected segment does not match the guarded route and falls through to the static handler, yet the filesystem resolves it to the same protected file. As a result, an unauthenticated request can read a file that a route guard or allowedPath was configured to protect. The issue does not affect case-sensitive filesystems and is not a directory traversal, since nothing is served from outside the configured root. The issue is fixed in @fastify/static 10.1.4, which validates the requested path against its actual on-disk spelling and rejects case-aliased paths before authorization. As a workaround, serve static files from a case-sensitive filesystem, or ensure route guards and allowedPath rules account for every letter-case variant of the protected paths. |
| SAIL is a cross-platform library for loading and saving images with support for animation, metadata, and ICC profiles. In 0.9.10 and earlier, psd_private_sail_pixel_format() in src/sail-codecs/psd/helpers.c resolves a one-channel PSD in Bitmap color mode to SAIL_PIXEL_FORMAT_BPP1_INDEXED without requiring the file depth to be one, so the pixel buffer uses one-bit rows while sail_codec_load_frame_v8_psd() in src/sail-codecs/psd/psd.c accepts depth == 8 and writes one attacker-controlled byte per pixel. Loading a crafted PSD through sail_load_from_file() or sail_load_from_memory() therefore writes beyond each heap row, causing memory corruption, a reliable crash, or potential code execution. This mode/depth mismatch is distinct from GHSA-rcqx-gc76-r9mv and GHSA-wcj8-hxxf-pq2c. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.0. |
| Heap-based buffer overflow in Windows Compressed Folder allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network. |
| Heap-based buffer overflow in Windows Error Reporting allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| Heap-based buffer overflow in Windows Microsoft DirectMusic allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network. |
| OpenDDS is an open source C++ implementation of the Object Management Group (OMG) Data Distribution Service (DDS). Prior to 3.34.0, a network attacker can crash a reachable OpenDDS participant by sending a malformed RTPS UDP submessage whose crafted length or sequence-number state causes dds/DCPS/transport/rtps_udp/RtpsUdpReceiveStrategy.cpp in RtpsUdpReceiveStrategy::handle_input() to advance ACE_Message_Block::rd_ptr() beyond valid data. The parser can then call dds/DCPS/transport/rtps_udp/RtpsSampleHeader.cpp in RtpsSampleHeader::init(), which dereferences the invalid read pointer without first validating it against wr_ptr() or ensuring that a complete submessage header remains. The resulting SIGSEGV occurs in the receive thread, terminates the DDS process, and destroys the DDS entities hosted by that participant. No authentication, prior protocol state, or victim interaction is required. This issue is fixed in version 3.34.0. |
| Vendure is an open-source headless commerce platform. Prior to 3.6.5, the public Shop GraphQL API allows an unauthenticated caller to supply a catastrophically backtracking pattern through StringOperators.regex. packages/core/src/service/helpers/list-query-builder/parse-filter-params.ts passes the raw pattern to the REGEXP implementation registered by packages/core/src/service/helpers/list-query-builder/list-query-builder.ts, and better-sqlite3 and sqljs evaluate it synchronously in the Node.js event loop. ShopProductsResolver.products is publicly reachable, so one nested-quantifier pattern can block request processing and make the storefront and admin API unavailable, while repeated requests can sustain denial of service. PostgreSQL and MySQL or MariaDB deployments do not execute this regular expression in the Node.js event loop. This issue is fixed in version 3.6.5. |
| A vulnerability was identified in GPAC 26.08-DEV. This vulnerability affects the function gf_rtp_parse_ttxt of the file src/ietf/rtp_depacketizer.c of the component RTP Depacketizer. Such manipulation of the argument size leads to out-of-bounds read. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. Upgrading to version abi-16.26 is able to resolve this issue. The name of the patch is 6bb0f64b4d1039c0fecd14ee2c1ee861d8661a68. The affected component should be upgraded. |
| vm2 through 3.11.6 contains a builtin-module denylist bypass in NodeVM. When the embedder uses the builtin wildcard together with negative entries (e.g. require: { builtin: ['*', '-fs', '-child_process'] }), negative entries are matched by exact module name in lib/builtin.js, so -fs removes only the builtin named fs and does not remove builtin subpaths such as fs/promises. Sandboxed code can therefore call require('fs/promises') or require('node:fs/promises') and reach the promise-based filesystem API despite fs being denied; node: prefix handling is likewise inconsistent (a -node:fs/promises entry does not block require('fs/promises')). Host file creation and writing were confirmed via fsp.writeFile(), and other fs/promises operations (cp, mkdir, rename, rm, rmdir, truncate, read operations, etc.) are also reachable. This issue is fixed in vm2 3.11.7. |
