CVE-2023-53713 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-15 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: arm64: sme: Use STR P to clear FFR context field in streaming SVE mode The FFR is a predicate register which can vary between 16 and 256 bits in size depending upon the configured vector length. When saving the SVE state in streaming SVE mode, the FFR register is inaccessible and so commit 9f5848665788 ("arm64/sve: Make access to FFR optional") simply clears the FFR field of the in-memory context structure. Unfortunately, it achieves this using an unconditional 8-byte store and so if the SME vector length is anything other than 64 bytes in size we will either fail to clear the entire field or, worse, we will corrupt memory immediately following the structure. This has led to intermittent kfence splats in CI [1] and can trigger kmalloc Redzone corruption messages when running the 'fp-stress' kselftest: | ============================================================================= | BUG kmalloc-1k (Not tainted): kmalloc Redzone overwritten | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | 0xffff000809bf1e22-0xffff000809bf1e27 @offset=7714. Replace the 8-byte store with a store of a predicate register which has been zero-initialised with PFALSE, ensuring that the entire field is cleared in memory. CVE-2023-53698 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-15 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xsk: fix refcount underflow in error path Fix a refcount underflow problem reported by syzbot that can happen when a system is running out of memory. If xp_alloc_tx_descs() fails, and it can only fail due to not having enough memory, then the error path is triggered. In this error path, the refcount of the pool is decremented as it has incremented before. However, the reference to the pool in the socket was not nulled. This means that when the socket is closed later, the socket teardown logic will think that there is a pool attached to the socket and try to decrease the refcount again, leading to a refcount underflow. I chose this fix as it involved adding just a single line. Another option would have been to move xp_get_pool() and the assignment of xs->pool to after the if-statement and using xs_umem->pool instead of xs->pool in the whole if-statement resulting in somewhat simpler code, but this would have led to much more churn in the code base perhaps making it harder to backport.
CVE-2023-53680 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-15 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSD: Avoid calling OPDESC() with ops->opnum == OP_ILLEGAL OPDESC() simply indexes into nfsd4_ops[] by the op's operation number, without range checking that value. It assumes callers are careful to avoid calling it with an out-of-bounds opnum value. nfsd4_decode_compound() is not so careful, and can invoke OPDESC() with opnum set to OP_ILLEGAL, which is 10044 -- well beyond the end of nfsd4_ops[].
CVE-2023-53638 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-15 7 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: octeon_ep: cancel queued works in probe error path If it fails to get the devices's MAC address, octep_probe exits while leaving the delayed work intr_poll_task queued. When the work later runs, it's a use after free. Move the cancelation of intr_poll_task from octep_remove into octep_device_cleanup. This does not change anything in the octep_remove flow, but octep_device_cleanup is called also in the octep_probe error path, where the cancelation is needed. Note that the cancelation of ctrl_mbox_task has to follow intr_poll_task's, because the ctrl_mbox_task may be queued by intr_poll_task.

This reverts commit cfee29ffb45b1c9798011b19d454637d1b0fe87d.
CVE-2023-53606 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-15 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: clean up potential nfsd_file refcount leaks in COPY codepath There are two different flavors of the nfsd4_copy struct. One is embedded in the compound and is used directly in synchronous copies. The other is dynamically allocated, refcounted and tracked in the client struture. For the embedded one, the cleanup just involves releasing any nfsd_files held on its behalf. For the async one, the cleanup is a bit more involved, and we need to dequeue it from lists, unhash it, etc. There is at least one potential refcount leak in this code now. If the kthread_create call fails, then both the src and dst nfsd_files in the original nfsd4_copy object are leaked. The cleanup in this codepath is also sort of weird. In the async copy case, we'll have up to four nfsd_file references (src and dst for both flavors of copy structure). They are both put at the end of nfsd4_do_async_copy, even though the ones held on behalf of the embedded one outlive that structure. Change it so that we always clean up the nfsd_file refs held by the embedded copy structure before nfsd4_copy returns. Rework cleanup_async_copy to handle both inter and intra copies. Eliminate nfsd4_cleanup_intra_ssc since it now becomes a no-op.
CVE-2023-53600 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-15 9.1 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tunnels: fix kasan splat when generating ipv4 pmtu error If we try to emit an icmp error in response to a nonliner skb, we get BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in ip_compute_csum+0x134/0x220 Read of size 4 at addr ffff88811c50db00 by task iperf3/1691 CPU: 2 PID: 1691 Comm: iperf3 Not tainted 6.5.0-rc3+ #309 [..] kasan_report+0x105/0x140 ip_compute_csum+0x134/0x220 iptunnel_pmtud_build_icmp+0x554/0x1020 skb_tunnel_check_pmtu+0x513/0xb80 vxlan_xmit_one+0x139e/0x2ef0 vxlan_xmit+0x1867/0x2760 dev_hard_start_xmit+0x1ee/0x4f0 br_dev_queue_push_xmit+0x4d1/0x660 [..] ip_compute_csum() cannot deal with nonlinear skbs, so avoid it. After this change, splat is gone and iperf3 is no longer stuck.
CVE-2023-53598 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-15 8.4 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bus: mhi: host: Range check CHDBOFF and ERDBOFF If the value read from the CHDBOFF and ERDBOFF registers is outside the range of the MHI register space then an invalid address might be computed which later causes a kernel panic. Range check the read value to prevent a crash due to bad data from the device.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: bcmgenet: Add a check for oversized packets Occasionnaly we may get oversized packets from the hardware which exceed the nomimal 2KiB buffer size we allocate SKBs with. Add an early check which drops the packet to avoid invoking skb_over_panic() and move on to processing the next packet.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: jbd2: check 'jh->b_transaction' before removing it from checkpoint Following process will corrupt ext4 image: Step 1: jbd2_journal_commit_transaction __jbd2_journal_insert_checkpoint(jh, commit_transaction) // Put jh into trans1->t_checkpoint_list journal->j_checkpoint_transactions = commit_transaction // Put trans1 into journal->j_checkpoint_transactions Step 2: do_get_write_access test_clear_buffer_dirty(bh) // clear buffer dirty, set jbd dirty __jbd2_journal_file_buffer(jh, transaction) // jh belongs to trans2 Step 3: drop_cache journal_shrink_one_cp_list jbd2_journal_try_remove_checkpoint if (!trylock_buffer(bh)) // lock bh, true if (buffer_dirty(bh)) // buffer is not dirty __jbd2_journal_remove_checkpoint(jh) // remove jh from trans1->t_checkpoint_list Step 4: jbd2_log_do_checkpoint trans1 = journal->j_checkpoint_transactions // jh is not in trans1->t_checkpoint_list jbd2_cleanup_journal_tail(journal) // trans1 is done Step 5: Power cut, trans2 is not committed, jh is lost in next mounting. Fix it by checking 'jh->b_transaction' before remove it from checkpoint.
CVE-2023-53499 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-15 7 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: virtio_net: Fix error unwinding of XDP initialization When initializing XDP in virtnet_open(), some rq xdp initialization may hit an error causing net device open failed. However, previous rqs have already initialized XDP and enabled NAPI, which is not the expected behavior. Need to roll back the previous rq initialization to avoid leaks in error unwinding of init code. Also extract helper functions of disable and enable queue pairs. Use newly introduced disable helper function in error unwinding and virtnet_close. Use enable helper function in virtnet_open.

CVE-2023-53473 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-15 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: improve error handling from ext4_dirhash() The ext4_dirhash() will *almost* never fail, especially when the hash tree feature was first introduced. However, with the addition of support of encrypted, casefolded file names, that function can most certainly fail today. So make sure the callers of ext4_dirhash() properly check for failures, and reflect the errors back up to their callers.
