| CVE-2026-31503 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-15 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: udp: Fix wildcard bind conflict check when using hash2 When binding a udp_sock to a local address and port, UDP uses two hashes (udptable->hash and udptable->hash2) for collision detection. The current code switches to "hash2" when hslot->count > 10. "hash2" is keyed by local address and local port. "hash" is keyed by local port only. The issue can be shown in the following bind sequence (pseudo code): bind(fd1, "[fd00::1]:8888") bind(fd2, "[fd00::2]:8888") bind(fd3, "[fd00::3]:8888") bind(fd4, "[fd00::4]:8888") bind(fd5, "[fd00::5]:8888") bind(fd6, "[fd00::6]:8888") bind(fd7, "[fd00::7]:8888") bind(fd8, "[fd00::8]:8888") bind(fd9, "[fd00::9]:8888") bind(fd10, "[fd00::10]:8888") /* Correctly return -EADDRINUSE because "hash" is used * instead of "hash2". udp_lib_lport_inuse() detects the * conflict. */ bind(fail_fd, "[::]:8888") /* After one more socket is bound to "[fd00::11]:8888", * hslot->count exceeds 10 and "hash2" is used instead. */ bind(fd11, "[fd00::11]:8888") bind(fail_fd, "[::]:8888") /* succeeds unexpectedly */ The same issue applies to the IPv4 wildcard address "0.0.0.0" and the IPv4-mapped wildcard address "::ffff:0.0.0.0". For example, if there are existing sockets bound to "192.168.1.[1-11]:8888", then binding "0.0.0.0:8888" or "[::ffff:0.0.0.0]:8888" can also miss the conflict when hslot->count > 10. TCP inet_csk_get_port() already has the correct check in inet_use_bhash2_on_bind(). Rename it to inet_use_hash2_on_bind() and move it to inet_hashtables.h so udp.c can reuse it in this fix. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btintel: serialize btintel_hw_error() with hci_req_sync_lock btintel_hw_error() issues two __hci_cmd_sync() calls (HCI_OP_RESET and Intel exception-info retrieval) without holding hci_req_sync_lock(). This lets it race against hci_dev_do_close() -> btintel_shutdown_combined(), which also runs __hci_cmd_sync() under the same lock. When both paths manipulate hdev->req_status/req_rsp concurrently, the close path may free the response skb first, and the still-running hw_error path hits a slab-use-after-free in kfree_skb(). Wrap the whole recovery sequence in hci_req_sync_lock/unlock so it is serialized with every other synchronous HCI command issuer. Below is the data race report and the kasan report: BUG: data-race in __hci_cmd_sync_sk / btintel_shutdown_combined read of hdev->req_rsp at net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:199 by task kworker/u17:1/83: __hci_cmd_sync_sk+0x12f2/0x1c30 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:200 __hci_cmd_sync+0x55/0x80 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:223 btintel_hw_error+0x114/0x670 drivers/bluetooth/btintel.c:254 hci_error_reset+0x348/0xa30 net/bluetooth/hci_core.c:1030 write/free by task ioctl/22580: btintel_shutdown_combined+0xd0/0x360 drivers/bluetooth/btintel.c:3648 hci_dev_close_sync+0x9ae/0x2c10 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:5246 hci_dev_do_close+0x232/0x460 net/bluetooth/hci_core.c:526 BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in sk_skb_reason_drop+0x43/0x380 net/core/skbuff.c:1202 Read of size 4 at addr ffff888144a738dc by task kworker/u17:1/83: __hci_cmd_sync_sk+0x12f2/0x1c30 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:200 __hci_cmd_sync+0x55/0x80 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:223 btintel_hw_error+0x186/0x670 drivers/bluetooth/btintel.c:260 | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: ctnetlink: use netlink policy range checks Replace manual range and mask validations with netlink policy annotations in ctnetlink code paths, so that the netlink core rejects invalid values early and can generate extack errors. - CTA_PROTOINFO_TCP_STATE: reject values > TCP_CONNTRACK_SYN_SENT2 at policy level, removing the manual >= TCP_CONNTRACK_MAX check. - CTA_PROTOINFO_TCP_WSCALE_ORIGINAL/REPLY: reject values > TCP_MAX_WSCALE (14). The normal TCP option parsing path already clamps to this value, but the ctnetlink path accepted 0-255, causing undefined behavior when used as a u32 shift count. - CTA_FILTER_ORIG_FLAGS/REPLY_FLAGS: use NLA_POLICY_MASK with CTA_FILTER_F_ALL, removing the manual mask checks. - CTA_EXPECT_FLAGS: use NLA_POLICY_MASK with NF_CT_EXPECT_MASK, adding a new mask define grouping all valid expect flags. Extracted from a broader nf-next patch by Florian Westphal, scoped to ctnetlink for the fixes tree. | ||||

The SPI controller is registered using devm_spi_register_controller(), which delays unregistration of the SPI controller until after the fsl_lpspi_remove() function returns. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/huge_memory: fix folio isn't locked in softleaf_to_folio() On arm64 server, we found folio that get from migration entry isn't locked in softleaf_to_folio(). This issue triggers when mTHP splitting and zap_nonpresent_ptes() races, and the root cause is lack of memory barrier in softleaf_to_folio(). The race is as follows: CPU0 CPU1 deferred_split_scan() zap_nonpresent_ptes() lock folio split_folio() unmap_folio() change ptes to migration entries __split_folio_to_order() softleaf_to_folio() set flags(including PG_locked) for tail pages folio = pfn_folio(softleaf_to_pfn(entry)) smp_wmb() VM_WARN_ON_ONCE(!folio_test_locked(folio)) prep_compound_page() for tail pages In __split_folio_to_order(), smp_wmb() guarantees page flags of tail pages are visible before the tail page becomes non-compound. smp_wmb() should be paired with smp_rmb() in softleaf_to_folio(), which is missed. As a result, if zap_nonpresent_ptes() accesses migration entry that stores tail pfn, softleaf_to_folio() may see the updated compound_head of tail page before page->flags. This issue will trigger VM_WARN_ON_ONCE() in pfn_swap_entry_folio() because of the race between folio split and zap_nonpresent_ptes() leading to a folio incorrectly undergoing modification without a folio lock being held. This is a BUG_ON() before commit 93976a20345b ("mm: eliminate further swapops predicates"), which in merged in v6.19-rc1. To fix it, add missing smp_rmb() if the softleaf entry is migration entry in softleaf_to_folio() and softleaf_to_page(). [tujinjiang@huawei.com: update function name and comments]
| CVE-2026-31452 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-15 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: convert inline data to extents when truncate exceeds inline size Add a check in ext4_setattr() to convert files from inline data storage to extent-based storage when truncate() grows the file size beyond the inline capacity. This prevents the filesystem from entering an inconsistent state where the inline data flag is set but the file size exceeds what can be stored inline. Without this fix, the following sequence causes a kernel BUG_ON(): 1. Mount filesystem with inode that has inline flag set and small size 2. truncate(file, 50MB) - grows size but inline flag remains set 3. sendfile() attempts to write data 4. ext4_write_inline_data() hits BUG_ON(write_size > inline_capacity) The crash occurs because ext4_write_inline_data() expects inline storage to accommodate the write, but the actual inline capacity (~60 bytes for i_block + ~96 bytes for xattrs) is far smaller than the file size and write request. The fix checks if the new size from setattr exceeds the inode's actual inline capacity (EXT4_I(inode)->i_inline_size) and converts the file to extent-based storage before proceeding with the size change. This addresses the root cause by ensuring the inline data flag and file size remain consistent during truncate operations. | ||||

The error is logged via ext4_error_inode(), the buffer head is released to prevent memory leak, and -EFSCORRUPTED is returned to indicate filesystem corruption.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nfnetlink_log: fix uninitialized padding leak in NFULA_PAYLOAD __build_packet_message() manually constructs the NFULA_PAYLOAD netlink attribute using skb_put() and skb_copy_bits(), bypassing the standard nla_reserve()/nla_put() helpers. While nla_total_size(data_len) bytes are allocated (including NLA alignment padding), only data_len bytes of actual packet data are copied. The trailing nla_padlen(data_len) bytes (1-3 when data_len is not 4-byte aligned) are never initialized, leaking stale heap contents to userspace via the NFLOG netlink socket. Replace the manual attribute construction with nla_reserve(), which handles the tailroom check, header setup, and padding zeroing via __nla_reserve(). The subsequent skb_copy_bits() fills in the payload data on top of the properly initialized attribute. | ||||
| CVE-2026-31427 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-15 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_conntrack_sip: fix use of uninitialized rtp_addr in process_sdp process_sdp() declares union nf_inet_addr rtp_addr on the stack and passes it to the nf_nat_sip sdp_session hook after walking the SDP media descriptions. However rtp_addr is only initialized inside the media loop when a recognized media type with a non-zero port is found. If the SDP body contains no m= lines, only inactive media sections (m=audio 0 ...) or only unrecognized media types, rtp_addr is never assigned. Despite that, the function still calls hooks->sdp_session() with &rtp_addr, causing nf_nat_sdp_session() to format the stale stack value as an IP address and rewrite the SDP session owner and connection lines with it. With CONFIG_INIT_STACK_ALL_ZERO (default on most distributions) this results in the session-level o= and c= addresses being rewritten to 0.0.0.0 for inactive SDP sessions. Without stack auto-init the rewritten address is whatever happened to be on the stack. Fix this by pre-initializing rtp_addr from the session-level connection address (caddr) when available, and tracking via a have_rtp_addr flag whether any valid address was established. Skip the sdp_session hook entirely when no valid address exists. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: x_tables: restrict xt_check_match/xt_check_target extensions for NFPROTO_ARP Weiming Shi says: xt_match and xt_target structs registered with NFPROTO_UNSPEC can be loaded by any protocol family through nft_compat. When such a match/target sets .hooks to restrict which hooks it may run on, the bitmask uses NF_INET_* constants. This is only correct for families whose hook layout matches NF_INET_*: IPv4, IPv6, INET, and bridge all share the same five hooks (PRE_ROUTING ... POST_ROUTING). ARP only has three hooks (IN=0, OUT=1, FORWARD=2) with different semantics. Because NF_ARP_OUT == 1 == NF_INET_LOCAL_IN, the .hooks validation silently passes for the wrong reasons, allowing matches to run on ARP chains where the hook assumptions (e.g. state->in being set on input hooks) do not hold. This leads to NULL pointer dereferences; xt_devgroup is one concrete example: Oops: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0xdffffc0000000044: 0000 [#1] SMP KASAN NOPTI KASAN: null-ptr-deref in range [0x0000000000000220-0x0000000000000227] RIP: 0010:devgroup_mt+0xff/0x350 Call Trace: <TASK> nft_match_eval (net/netfilter/nft_compat.c:407) nft_do_chain (net/netfilter/nf_tables_core.c:285) nft_do_chain_arp (net/netfilter/nft_chain_filter.c:61) nf_hook_slow (net/netfilter/core.c:623) arp_xmit (net/ipv4/arp.c:666) </TASK> Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt Fix it by restricting arptables to NFPROTO_ARP extensions only.
